1st Post

Welcome to my blog! This is obviously my first post. I am a Christ-follower and have known Him personally since I was 12. My walk with God has truly been a growing experience. It has not been without trials, but if it were not for these trials, I would not have grown as close to God as I am now. I believe that He will use everything in my life, both good and bad, to grow me into the person He wants me to become. I hope and pray that He will use my experiences to touch others and serve them.

It took me a while to come up with a URL for my blog. It is understandable because Blogger is most likely the biggest blog domain on the world wide web. I was happy that this URL was not taken, for it is a good one. It comes from a line in a song sung by Chris Tomlin - a remake of the hymn When I Survey the Wondrous Cross. This particular part of the song is not part of the original hymn, but it goes:

Oh the wonderful cross
Oh the wonderful cross
Bids me come and die and find that I may truly live

When I think of those words, I think of how my life has been changed since I accepted Jesus as my Savior. Because of the cross, I can live in freedom. Also......

When I was younger, I went through something pretty bad, which I did not realize until I was older. One day I had the courage to tell someone and break the silence. The feeling I had when I told someone was literally as if a burden was being lifted off my back. I felt like I could truly live my life to the fullest. I didn't realize how much of an impact it had on me until I realized what had happened.

I am thankful that I can live life abundantly because of what God did for me. He redeemed me from a situation that could have turned my life upside down. Jesus conquered the grave (another reference from a song), and I can conquer the hardships in my life, too.
